Populism, Liberty, AI, and the Future of Society: An Expert Conversation.

A conversation with George F. Will (American libertarian conservative writer, political commentator, and columnist for The Washington Post) and Sir Niall Ferguson (Scottish historian, MA, DPhil, FRSE, is the Milbank Family Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and a senior faculty fellow of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard), sponsored by the Liberty Fund.

Populism, the disruptive effect of the China Shock, the resilience of the American real median household income over a century, the ever-growing US public debt, state capitalism, the operating system of society based on the rule of law, and the relevance of Adam Smith’s Theory of Moral Sentiments are some of the subjects of their conversation.

They also discuss why artificial intelligence should be called “alien intelligence,” its disruptive effects on daily life, and its positive impact on medicine as one of the most beneficial for humankind. The new Gilded Age and the fortunate prevalence of the values of individual liberty.
